Jams, Preserves, Conserves, Fruit ButtersTait Farm use over a half pound of fresh fruit in every jar of these products and very small amounts of unbleached cane sugar (approximately 1/3 the amount of sugar as commercial brands). They taste just like eating fresh fruit and you will immediately know the difference. Apple Butter is made the old-fashioned way in an open copper kettle and cooked over a wood fire. It contains no sweeteners or spices. This apricot butter is as close to that flavor as you have ever tasted! Alyssa's Berry SauceNamed after the originator (who just happens to be the youngest Tait Farm kid) this sauce is a delightful blend of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, ever so slightly sweetened and spiced, with a hint of lemon. It is perfect over pancakes, crepes or ice cream. Fruit Shrubs
What is Shrub? We can't even tell you how many times we have been asked this question. The word Shrub comes from the Arabic word sharab, which literally means drink. In the dictionary, Shrub is defined as an acid fruit drink. Our fruit shrubs are based on Colonial era recipes and are drink concentrates made with our fresh fruit vinegars, unbleached cane sugar, honey and spices. They can be mixed with sparkling water (1 part Shrub to 8 parts water) to make festive non-alcoholic drinks, also to flavor wine and champagne, or used as an ingredient in many delicious dishes ranging from fruit salsas to desserts. Of contemporary historical significance, Tait Farm Fruit Shrubs have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and are sold to many historical sites including Colonial Williamsburg. Our Fruit Shrub drinks are also served at The City Tavern Restaurant in Philadelphia. Recipe booklets come with each bottle. Harrison's Fig & Olive RelishWhat can we say, other than the first time we tasted this delicious product, we knew we had to get it into a jar for everyone to enjoy. Created by our good friend Chef Harrison Schailey of Harrison's Wine Country Grill in State College, it is perfect accompaniment to Chevre (soft goat cheese) and a crusty baguette.
